Pilaf – Mom Style

grandma bobby

This was a favorite in my house when I was a little girl. If my mom made her “famous” pilaf the whole house was happy. This was before the days of Rice-a-Roni. If only she would have marketed it, it would have been Rice-a-Bobby.

It’s simple, easy, and best with a little A-1 sauce on it….yeah I know, weird, but true.

Enjoy mom’s pilaf, seriously yummy in the tummy!! Thank you mom!

Pilaf

1 C medium grain rice

1 can Campbell’s beef broth—MUST BE Beef Broth

Drizzle a little vegetable oil in the bottom of a medium size sauce pan. Heat on medium heat. Add rice, stir & cook until rice is brown. Add enough water to the broth to make 2 cups, bring to a boil in a separate pan or in the microwave. When rice is brown and broth is boiling pour the broth into the rice and cover immediately. Lower heat to simmer. Simmer for 25 minutes—NO peeking!!!!
