Manly Meatloaf Shepherd Pie

When I cook I almost always usually, LOL, have music playing. I’ve decided to share with you what I pop in the CD player when I cook. During the preparation of my Manly Pie I played this—-


Kelly Clarkson—Thankful. Good music for sure, at least in my mind. I ended up dancing around a bit!

Chop chop the onion; add all the goodness to the meat!

While the meat cooks peel your tators. I REALLY need a

Potato peeler!!

mash those tators

Boil and mash those tators,

add the bacon, onions, and

all the stuff that makes mashed

Potatoes fab!

bake it

Top the manly meat with the mashed potatoes, cheese on top

of that and a sprinkle of the French fried onions and

bake it Baby!!

Manly Meatloaf Shepherd Pie


1 Lb hamburger

1 egg

½ medium onion chopped into small pieces

¼ C barbeque sauce

½ tsp ground cumin

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp salt

¼ C seasoned bread crumbs

Combine all the above ingredients pat into a 2 ½ quart oven safe baking dish or a 9 inch square dish. Bake @ 375 for 30-40 minutes until done.

Drain grease off.  Top with the mashed potatoes, cheese on top of that and a sprinkle of French fried onions.  Bake 375 for another 15 minutes or until lightly brown.

Mashed Potatoes

2 large potatoes

2 Tbs butter

2/3 C half and half

¾ C REAL bacon crumbles

1 C French fried onions

Salt and pepper to taste

1 C shredded 4 cheese blend

Peel and cut the potatoes into small pieces, boil until fork tender.

Drain and add, butter, bacon, half and half and French fried onions.

Salt and pepper to taste.

If they are too thick add more half and half.
